Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, has launched an app which shows the broadband and mobile coverage availability for your address. It will also show the predicted speeds available for broadband.
The app can also test your connections and suggest tips for improving your speed. The checker quickly runs a series of tests and measurements from your smartphone or tablet to tell you how well your mobile or broadband connection is performing.
Poor Wi-Fi can have a big impact on performance and might mean you’re not getting the best out of your home broadband connection. The app will identify if there is a major drop in performance between your broadband connection and your home Wi-Fi network. It will give tips to help you fix any problems.
To get a complete view, we recommend running tests in different places, at different times, and on different devices.
Feedback can be provided to us via the feedback option in the app’s setting menu.
